FLYING TO ICELAND
There are over a 100 direct flights from Western Europe, the USA and Canada to Iceland every day operated by different airlines. It takes about 2-3 hours to fly from Europe, approximately 5 hours from the East Coast of North America and only 7 hours from the West Coast of North America. There is one main carrier, Icelandair, which services destinations on both sides of the Atlantic. All flights arrive at Keflavik International Airport, 45 minutes from Reykjavik, Iceland's capital.

AIRLINES AT KEF
Once you arrive to Keflavík you can take a domestic flight to the start of your program in Iceland or use ground transportation. Please see below for further details.
- Reykjavik to the The Troll Peninsula: approximately 5.5 hours by car or 35 minutes via domestic flight.
- Reykjavik to Eglistaðir: approximately 7 hours by car or 45 minutes via domestic flight.
- Reykjavik to Isafjörður: approximately 6 hours by car or 45 minutes via domestic flight.

DOMESTIC FLIGHTS
ICELANDAIR FROM REYKJAVIK TO AKUREYRI, EGILSTAÐIR OR ISAFJÖRÐUR
Transfer (approximately 45 minutes) from the Keflavik International Airport (KEF) to the Reykjavik Domestic Airport (RKV) to take a short flight (35-45) minutes to Akureyri (AEY), Egilstaðir (EGS) or Isafjörður (ISF). Please note that the domestic airline servicing Iceland is IcelandAir.
TRANSFER SERVICES BETWEEN KEF AND REYKJAVIK DOMESTIC AIRPORT:
- Taxis located directly outside the arrivals gate: Hreyfill Taxi
- Pre-arrange your pick up with IceLimo or other car services (Uber and Lyft are not currently offered in Iceland)
- Shuttle buses: Reykjavik Excursions and Gray Line Iceland
Please keep in mind that a minimum of 2.5 hours is required from the time your international flight lands in Keflavik until the departure of the domestic flight in Reykjavik. Passengers can experience delays with customs and baggage collection and the transfer time between airports is 45 minutes. There can also be heavy traffic between the airport and Reykjavik in the mornings during weekdays. It is necessary to arrive at the Reykjavik domestic airport at least 30 minutes prior to departure. The domestic airport is very small and easy to navigate.
CAR RENTAL
Some guests prefer to do some sightseeing before or after their program so there is an option to rent a car and drive from Reykjavík to the starting point of the program where you can return the car so that you are not paying for unused days. There are a number of car rental operations at the Keflavík airport and in Reykjavík. Please keep in mind that there is a typically a surcharge for one way rentals. PUBLIC BUS
There are well established public bus companies offering transportation to the west, north and east. Please note that these services are quite time consuming but are an easy and budget friendly way to travel if you are traveling solo.
